Kumamoto is a mountainous (volcanic) region on the island of Kyushu. It is famous for its hot springs, and lush scenery. This road sign (notice the Japanese/English writing) which is near Kumamoto indicates that you are crossing the 33rd parallel, as far North from the Equator as Dallas and Baghdad. | ||
